Zoho Books anytime anywhere access for the win!

Today I want to share a little “win” I experienced with Zoho Books. To give you some background, prior to January 1, 2020, I had been a Quickbooks Pro desktop user for about 18 years – except for a short stint on QB Online about 5 years ago. Having moved to Zoho One at the end of 2019, I decided to go “all in” with Zoho and convert my QuickBooks Pro to Zoho Books.

So, back to my win…I was on the road, and a client called about an invoice I’d sent. He wanted to make a quantity change and asked me if I could revise and resend the invoice. I said, “sure, but it might take me some time since I’m out of the office.” Now, I’ve been using Zoho Books since January, but I’m typically in front of my computer. I have the Books application installed on my phone, but I haven’t had much cause to use it. At my next stop, I opened the app, located the invoice, updated the quantity and saved it. The next thing I see is that the client paid it online. Done! I didn’t even have to resend it because he already had the link.

This is something I couldn’t do with the Quickbooks mobile app. Now, it’s been a while since I used that, but in looking at recent reviews on the Internet, it still doesn’t look like the app has the full funcitonality of the Zoho Books mobile app…not to mention that my Zoho Books seamlessly integrates with my Zoho CRM. Not only that, my customers each get a portal where they can see their invoices and payment history, I can automatically send thank you notes when payments are received, I have recurring invoices being sent automatically – with notifications to me that they’ve been sent, and it easily integrated with my Authorize.net account.

As research for this article I checked out “the competition” – Quickbooks Online – to see what the current pricing is. For my very small business I wouldn’t need more than the Essentials plan, but Zoho Books is competitive with the Plus plan and at least some features of the Advanced Plan. Essentials is $40/mo, Plus is $70/mo and Advanced is $150/mo. My Zoho One subscription is just $30/employee/month (annually) AND includes so much more than just Books. You can find a nice overview here: https://reviews.financesonline.com/p/zoho-books/.

If you are a Zoho One subscriber using QuickBooks, I highly recommend you take a look at the Zoho Books functionality – or give KI Consultants a call or Schedule an appointment here: https://kicrm.acuityscheduling.com/ We have consultants who are experts on Zoho Books and can talk with you to evaluate your needs to see if Zoho Books is a viable option for your business.
